Welcome to the Waveborn Wiki! We have been building this site for the past few months, and it contains tons of information about past, present, and future waveborn projects. We will be using this site to share details about our brand ambassador program with people around the world who are interested in joining our team. It is also full of entrepreneurship advice for anyone who wants to embrace the Waveborn lifestyle.
For those of you new to the site, Waveborn is a social good sunglasses company that combines the cool of fashion with the soul of giving. For each pair of sunglasses sold, Waveborn donates a new pair of prescription eyeglasses to people that need them, through charity partner, Unite For Sight. Waveborn offers one distinct style of shades in four popular colors: Dark Tortoise, Clear Gray, Bold Black and Pacific Blue. Thrillist.com describes the product as “sleek, moderately-priced sunglasses,” and explains “the Italian-made shades themselves look like slightly sportier versions of Ray-Ban’s classic Wayfarer design.”
Waveborn’s charity partner, Unite For Sight, is an amazing organization that works with local eye clinics around the world to help people in underserved communities. Unite For Sight supports local professionals in Ghana, Honduras and India, to provide comprehensive eye care services, including examinations, diagnoses, and care for all treatable conditions. Additionally, Unite For Sight has developed a Global Impact Corps for volunteers to travel abroad and distribute new eyeglasses to the people that need them. For each pair of Waveborn sunglasses sold, a new pair of prescription eyeglasses is distributed to patients by the Global Impact Corps volunteers.
We're not just selling sunglasses. We're selling a way of life, a way of life that is focused on discovering happiness and personal growth while working on projects you are truly passionate about. Life is not about the number of dollars in your bank account. It is about your experiences and relationships and overall well-being. We believe that the world will become a much better place if more people leveraged their unique skill sets to do good work for others. In today's connected society, it is easier than ever to follow the actions, status updates, and beliefs of your extended networks via social media. We believe that the tides are changing and a new wave of social change has been born.
Waveborn is a social good sunglasses that prides itself on doing good in the world and sparking a movement of social change. We don't judge our success as a company by the number of sunglasses and fanny packs sold, the quarterly sales report, but instead by the size and continued growth of our community. We are building a tribe of brand ambassadors across the world who believe that "work" and "helping others" are not mutually exclusive. And we want you to join us on our mission.
